Privacy Policy

Overview
Stage Proof is designed with your privacy in mind. Your songs, lyrics, and personal content stay on your device. We collect minimal, anonymous usage analytics to improve the app, and we measure whether our ads on Instagram and Facebook lead to installs.
Data Storage
All your songs, lyrics, practice history, and gig setlists are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not accessible to us or any third party.
Analytics
Stage Proof uses PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics (e.g. which features are used, app events). This helps us understand how the app is used and where to improve it.
- No personal information (name, email, etc.) is collected
- No account or registration is required
- No advertising identifiers are used for analytics
- Your song content, lyrics, and practice data are never sent to any server
- Analytics data is processed by PostHog on EU servers
PostHog also records how screens are used (session replay): screenshots of the app as you move through it, with all text, text you type and images masked. The one exception is the built-in lyrics finder, which shows public websites such as Ultimate Guitar unmasked. Recordings are kept for 30 days and are only used to find where the app is confusing.
Ad Measurement (Meta)
We advertise Stage Proof on Instagram and Facebook. To learn whether those ads lead to installs, the app includes the Meta SDK (App Events), provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrie Square South, Dublin 2, Ireland.
When you install and open the app, the Meta SDK sends Meta:
- That the app was installed and opened (app events)
- Technical device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone, and your IP address
- An anonymous app identifier created by the SDK
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you tap "Allow" when the app asks for permission to track. If you decline, it is not sent
Your songs, lyrics, recordings, and practice data are never sent to Meta. Meta uses this data to tell us, in aggregate, how many installs our ads produced. Meta may also use it under its own terms; see Meta's Privacy Policy.
Legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring how well our advertising works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Meta may transfer data to Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA; Meta relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers. You can object at any time by emailing us at the address below. You can change your tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Data Deletion
Your songs and content are stored locally — delete them in the app or by uninstalling. Analytics data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you. For data Meta holds, you can use the tools described in Meta's Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
Stage Proof does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The analytics and ad measurement described above apply equally to all users.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
